1 Standardized Image Acquisition Protocol
The standard scanning procedure is comprised of four scanning areas. The first is of the superior temporal arcade, with the nasal edge of the scanning area centered at the vertical midline, half into the optic nerve, and half outside the nerve.
The second scanning area is done inferior temporally in the same way that the first scanning area is performed.
The nasal scanning fields are done in order to capture the superior half of the optic nerve, and the inferior nerve. With these scans line up the temporal edge of the scanning area with the temporal edge of the optic nerve head trying to intersect the horizontal midline. In these two scans, the sensitivity control should be set high in order to give the darker tissue of the rim a better chance of analysis.
